As we continue to scale, we are strengthening our internal operations and hiring a Senior Accountant to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and structure across the organization.

The Role
This is not a routine accounting role. As a Senior Accountant at Talentpoel, you will:
Own end-to-end accounting operations and financial reporting.
Ensure strict compliance with Nigerian tax regulations and statutory requirements.
Manage tax filings (VAT, PAYE, WHT, CIT) with zero compliance lapses.
Interface with regulatory bodies such as the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and relevant state authorities.
Oversee reconciliations, financial records, and reporting accuracy.
Prepare and present quarterly and annual financial reports.
Manage relationships with banking institutions.
Identify financial risks early and implement corrective actions.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Build structured, scalable, and reliable financial systems.
Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability within the finance function.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

Financial records are accurate and consistently up to date.
Tax filings and compliance obligations are completed without delays or errors.
Financial processes are structured and scalable.
Risks are identified early and resolved proactively.
Minimal need for follow-ups or corrections.

Requirements
Must Have:

At least 5-6 years of relevant experience as an Accountant.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax compliance and filing processes.
High level of proactiveness and ability to work independently.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to meet deadlines without follow-ups.
Demonstrated leadership capability and sound judgment.

Not A Fit If You:
Require constant supervision to complete tasks.
Struggle with meeting deadlines or managing time effectively.
Lack hands-on experience with Nigerian tax compliance.
Are reactive instead of proactive.
Avoid ownership or accountability.
